feeling free

hello

It truly feels like we all skipped a year. I remember very little of it, except for the feeling of concern for everyone. I did very little as a whole, living mostly in pajamas. Took an occasional drive on empty roads and came right back home. I escaped into the world of Animal Crossing and enjoyed it thoroughly, playing a full year. That's the longest i've ever stuck with a game!

Then gradually it started getting better. I got out a little wearing a mask. Began eating out some. And although i was afraid at first, i got completely vaccinated. Now i feel free. And i wonder why i didn't do more during the past year. No flowers were planted, no walks , no daisy picking, no blogging, no painting.

But this spring i've come alive again, doing all the things i missed. Picked daisies, planted flowers and even found a little grass snake to hold. I've also begun to paint regularly and walk.
These four girls I painted this week. They are small , 5x7, but i'm really happy with how they turned out and will be making more of them.

now it's summer

hello again

it's summer now and it feels like it! the mornings have been fairly cool and foggy. the days hot and humid. i tend to spend my mornings outside, then stay in til the sun starts to go down. i can't take the heat anymore. my favorite seasons are spring and fall.

i have almost finished the first season of Outlander. it's so good!though i have to cover my eyes during the bloody parts. i wanted  claire to make it to the stone so bad, because even though i love jamie i want her out of that violent place. i wonder if she ever gets to go back? sigh... it's so good.
oh and i wish Jamie had just killed captain randall... now i'm getting violent.

as you can see i've been working on my dollhouse stuff. i made a tiny mr.darcy from pipecleaners. so cute. so far virginia has a tiny bed complete with tiny linens. I haven't yet finished her tiny crocheted blanket and i still wanna make a tiny quilt. i went to hobby lobby this week and found a little metal tub for a tiny bathtub and picked out her flooring and wallpaper. i've drawn up plans to build a light weight foldable tiny house. wednesdays are gonna be my dollhouse day. my thanks to ann @ ann wood handmade for getting me motivated and sharing patterns and her #missthistlesociety on Instagram. it's so fun to see what everyone creates!

trying: to start watching my portion sizes and walk 5 days a week.

hoping: that over time I will get skinny lol.

wishing: that I can still eat cookie dough blasts.

cursing: sonic for creating them.

needing: self control.

so I've been working in
journals
I still can't believe
how quickly the time goes by
while I work
or the amount of work I
can get done in an
hour

my little garden is
blooming
even the vines
and the butterflies, bees and hummingbirds
enjoy it as much as I do

 on Instagram
 artists are challenging others
to #drawthisinyourstyle
so I tried a couple

also i'm starting a mixed media journal group
at work
we will be making art journals
out of composition books
and experimenting with
paint, markers, collage,
inside

loving:
that cross stitch chicken pattern
cloud shadows
thunder and lightning
The Crown on Netflix
new tires on my car
