taking classes

Online classes are a good way to learn new techniques, learn how to use different mediums, and get your creativity flowing again.  I have been
joining in some classes in drawing and painting on Creative Bug and plan to start a more soon.
These pictures are of my completed works.

being mindful

I had a checkup this week and though my health is good, my weight isn't.  I knew that of course but when the doctor says something it's time to get to work.  So I put myself back on Weight Watchers.  After being on it for a few days I realized it's all about being mindful.  Paying attention to what you are eating and how much exercise you are getting.  So I decided to make a list to help me remember.

[the losses]

large Sonic drinks
daily treats (ice cream, candy, cake etc.)
not having to think about what i'm eating
lounging on the couch most of the day

[the benefits]

feeling good
no cravings
more in control
learning to make better choices
enjoying nature daily
a tidier home
a happier husband
eating home cooked meals
no more guilt

I realized that I'm really not giving up that much
but gaining so much more.
This post is mainly to remind me when I mess up
and I will mess up
to just start again and keep going.

a place for my pink coffee pot

After browsing through Pinterest , Instagram and
all the wonderful blogs I follow, I got the idea to
make a coffee station. I had found this perfect
pink coffee maker on Amazon but knew it would
not make my husband happy to replace our black
coffee maker with a pink one.  Still I couldn't
get it out of my head.
So this is what I came up with and I LOVE IT!

I now have a use for my thrifted coffee canister.

Moved my sugar bowl and polka dot cup and added
some linens out of my stash.

I put my coffee cups nearby on a shelf.

And now I love making my coffee every
morning.

at the river

Last week was nice and cool,  so we went for a drive to the river. I was wanting to collect some
river rocks and Bobby was gonna do some fishing.

The path down to the river was lush and green.  It was filled with small orange flowers that I have
    never seen before.

And the view overhead was just as pretty.

    The Little Red River

Bobby found a tiny brown trout stuck in a tiny little puddle and rescued it.

I searched the shore for just the right rocks.

In the process I also found three heart rocks. Bobby found one too.

This is what I came home with.

And this is what I got them for.
