summer days

    I finally did it...I retired.

my whispers journal

     I haven't posted here in a while but that doesn't mean I haven't been working. I found
Kelly Rae Roberts book ,Taking Flight, years ago. It's a wonderful book full of inspiration
and new techniques. I picked it up again to read and decided I would try every project.
This is the first one... creating a whispers art journal using hardback book covers as a
   canvas.

        This is the front cover...

       Inside pages...

                                                                                                 and the back cover...

The next part is a technique from artist DJ Pettit for painting on fabric. I decided to make
a banner to hang on my window.

                                                    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

So that's what I'm working on now...oh plus my winter ripple blanket that is. I also need to
put holes in my journal and tie it together with the black velvet ribbon I bought, but I'm
having a hard time finding the cutting tool I need.  I'll keep trying and post a picture of it
      when it's all done.

my word for the year...

Maybe I've found the source of my procrastination. I've always thought it
was laziness, but when I paid attention I realized it was usually fear of some
sort. You can't do it...you will mess it up...you're doin it wrong, etc.  So this
year I will tell myself to be brave whenever those thoughts pop up and I will
do it anyway. So far it has really helped...yay!

december...

Whoa! December is already gone. I'm afraid I spent most of it sick with cold after cold,
In between coughing, sneezing and sleeping I did get a bit done.

    First I finished my crochetmoodblanket2014!

Cleaned up and reorganized my art room.

    Got my tree decorated.

    Then made some new ornaments.

    A cute Mr. Darcy.

     And some crocheted mandalas.

    I also painted this.

So I've been more creative than I thought and that's a
good thing. Plans for next year are constantly running
   through my brain...
